The bronze sculpture is of Archangel Michael the "great prince who stands up for the children of Israel" depicted as boy-child. He is an archangel in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic tradition. He is viewed as the field commander of the Army of God; in which he led God's armies against Satan's forces during his uprising. He is seen here symbolizing his high martial rank in a helmet bearing a downward sword in his right arm. There are multi-meanings and significances found through the scriptures of old religions. For example, In the Book of Enoch he is the angel of forbearance and mercy, teaching Enoch the mysteries of clemency and justice. Some speculate that the angel in the book of Jubilees, who is said to have instructed Moses on Mount Sinai and to have delivered to him the tablets of Law, may be Michael. This is a great addition not only for it's artistry but for the blessing of light and protection against darkness correlated to the highest archangel. He was captured using the archaic method of lost-wax casting and finished with a brown patina tarnish. He is mounted upon a black marble base with the artist Marcel Debut's signature.
