Chiparus` Female Dancers are among the most popular bronze Art Deco sculptures. Therefore, this sculpture of a dancer from the Twenties is characteristic of D. H. Chiparus` artistic work. However, the artist turns away from the often rather linear design of his motives and creates a playful, but in its details rather elaborate Art Deco sculpture of a graceful dancer. The surface quality of her dancing suit has an opulent effect on the otherwise delicate overall appearance. Her face and hands are designed in an ivorylook, suspending the static impression of the bronze and bringing an air of liveliness into the sculpture. The production of our bronze statues is subject to strict quality guidelines. Our whole selection of bronze statues and figurines has been produced by using the lost wax technique and has been cast by hand. Therefore, we can guarantee you a high standard of quality when you are shopping online for our exclusive Art Deco figures at Bronze Shop. D. H. Chiparus, born 16 September 1886 in Romania, spent most of his life in Italy and Paris. His works were produced under the heavy influence of the French theatre, fashion, dance, and a love for Egyptian culture. Part of his work are numerous Art Deco figures, e.g. the famous Chryselephantines. The artist, whose full name was Demetre Haralamb Chiparus, died 22 January 1947 in Paris, where he had worked as a sculptor and ceramist. Nowadays, the largest collection of D. H. Chiparus` originals is located in Moscow, where it can be visited at the Art Deco Russian House. The observer will notice that the artist`s sculptures reflect the time of Art Deco in a rather breathtaking way.
