Any fan of the Roaring 20’s, Jazz and F.Scott Fitzgerald will adore this stunning Flapper. They were considered to be the “New Breed” of young women. The troublesome youth flaunted “unacceptable behavior”. Unacceptable being smoking, drinking, sex and…(gasp) driving. The end of World War I gave birth to these party loving, swing dancing, free spirits. This demure flapper can't help but to do the Charleston even though she has already kicked off her heels for the night. Her bobbed hair curls out from beneath her roaring 20's hat, which was a popular style of the Jazz obsessed era. Her dress shimmies as she moves. It is a bright yellow patina but the hemline is a pinkish red. A matching yellow sash loops around her arms. 100% bronze and handmade, this sculpture was cast using the “Lost Wax Method” and mounted on a marble base and is signed C. Mirval.
