This is a beautiful sculpture of an Egyptian woman dancer. She stands on her tip toes with her feet together and her arms out stretched and she tilts her head to her right shoulder. She has on an intricately elaborated head garment, etched with gems and beads in a mesh that falls to her shoulders. Over her breasts are two round pieces of fabric encircled with beads and beaded tassels hang from it. It attaches over her shoulders and to a back strap. Around her waist is a simple beaded cord that has an extravagantly embellished draping that hangs from its front in a fan like way with a heavy and wide fabric that hangs from it reaching her knees, all in a proper homage to the Egyptian dress. She is a beautiful woman with precise and delicate features and he mouth is in a slight smile. Around her wrists and upper arms are gemmed bangles. She is handcrafted using the ancient “Lost Wax Method” and made of 100% bronze with a two tone brown patina. Signed Chiparus.
