The late 19th-century bronze figure depicts a goddess, cast after a model by Cattaneo. The nude female holds a conch shell aloft in her left hand, standing on a naturalistic base that adds a sense of dynamic movement and grace to the piece. Measuring 30 inches high and raised on a black marble socle, this sculpture exemplifies the elegance and attention to detail characteristic of Cattaneo's work.

In addition to his sculptural achievements, Danese Cattaneo was also celebrated as a poet.
