The beautiful woman can be seen coming down a forested mountainside to a clearing where a stream trickles above and around water-polished rocks. Struggling to keep the bundle of wildflowers she has collected in a bouquet, she gathers the hem of her skirt with both hands, to cross without getting wet. There is natural essence to the sculpture; it's realistic intentions created a work of art composed with factors of vitality. She was captured using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation. She is mounted upon a variegated black marble base with the artist A. Moreau's signature.

Auguste Moreau (French,1834 - 1917) was born in Dijon in the early 19th century, he studied under Mathurin Moreau. Auguste Moreau worked as a sculptor and specialized in figures, statuettes and groups, mainly in marble. He made his debut at the 1861 Salon in Paris and continued to play an active part in the Salon des Artistes Francis as a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais until 1910.
