THIS BEAUTIFUL SCULPTURE IS REPRODUCED FROM THE ORIGINAL, AND IS A MAGNIFICENT DEPICTION OF A MUSICAL TROUBADOUR. He PLAYS HER FLUTE WHILE TELLING A POETIC STORY. SHE WEARS RENAISSANCE CLOTHING, A TUNIC WITH A BUTTON UP VEST AND A CLOTH LIKE BELT, AND TIGHTS WITH SOCK LIKE SLIPPERS WITH LACES AROUND THE ANKLES. THE TUNIC FALLS LOW AND EXPOSES HER COLLAR BONE. HER DELICATE LITTLE FEMININE FINGERS HOLD HER FLUTE WHILE SHE BLOWS A LOVELY TUNE. SHE STANDS ON WHAT SEEMS TO BE A CUSHIONING BLANKET. HE WEARS A RENAISSANCE HAT WITH A FEATHER, IT HOLD HIS HAIR BACK TO EXPOSE HIS DELICATE FACE. SHE WAS CASTED USING THE "LOST WAX METHOD" AND HAS VERY FINE DETAILS GIVING HER ANTIQUE DEALER QUALITY. HER PATINA IS DARK BROWN WITH HIGHLIGHTS OF GOLD. THE DETAIL OF THIS SCULPTURE MAKES IT A WORK OF QUALITY. THE RED MARBLE BASE ADDS TO THE REFINEMENT OF SCULPTURE.

JEAN-DÉSIRÉ RINGEL WAS BORN IN ILZACH IN THE UPPER RHINE IN 1849 AND DIED IN STRASBOURG IN 1916.
